Expanding Get A Grip Training

Get A Grip Training started as a simple idea – build strong, capable athletes through structured, individualised training. No shortcuts.

For the first year that work has been carried by one coach. Me. Now the interest in personalised coaching has grown and in order to let more people chase their dreams – I need reinforcements!

So this is not a rebrand. It’s a natural next step.

I’m happy to welcome Signy Karoline as a coach within Get A Grip Training!

Why Signy?

Signy isn’t just one of me best friends, she brings a combination I value deeply in coaching; clinical understanding, real-world athletic experience, and long-term thinking.

She is a licensed physiotherapist and personal trainer with extensive experience in strength and endurance training, rehabilitation, injury prevention, and return-to-training after both injuries and medical conditions. Alongside this, she competes internationally in Obstacle Course Racing and has spent years applying theory in high-performance environments.

Good coaching isn’t just about writing hard sessions or chasing short-term results. It’s about knowing when to push, when to adjust, and how to build athletes who can train consistently over time.

Areas of expertise

Signy works across a broad spectrum of athletes and needs, including:

  • Strength and endurance training for health and performance

  • Functional training and muscle mass development

  • Weight management and fat loss

  • Injury prevention and rehabilitation

  • Return-to-training after injury or illness

  • Exercise for cardiovascular disease

  • Post-pregnancy training

Her approach is evidence-based, but never disconnected from the realities of daily life and training.

Education and professional background

Signy’s background includes:

  • Physiotherapist, UCN Denmark (2013–2017)

  • Personal Trainer, HiNe (2013)

Athletic background

  • Elite Obstacle Course Racing athlete since 2019 (too many medals to count…)

  • Former volleyball and football player

  • Strong foundation in functional strength training

She understands the demands of OCR not just from a coaching perspective, but from inside the sport.

What this means for athletes

Get A Grip Training remains the same at its core. Same philosophy. Same structure. Same focus on long-term development over quick fixes.

The difference is capacity.

Athletes can now be coached by either Leon or Signy, depending on availability and fit, while following the same standards, tools, and coaching framework. This allows us to keep training truly individualised without compromising quality or attention. You can read about the coaching setup here.

Welcome to the team, Signy!
